Why We Exist

Love. Love is the answer.

We know that the greatest commands of the Bible are to love God with our whole being and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are to love our families and our friends and our enemies.

God is our example. God so loved the world that he gave us Jesus. Jesus came preaching the gospel of the new kingdom, a new way of being human in the world. We exist to follow Jesus and to manifest that new way of being human.

Our way, is the way of the cross of Christ. Jesus defeats the evil in the world, the schemes of the Evil One, by joyful and determined self-sacrifice. The task is important, overwhelming, and vital for the salvation of the world. We have been given the Holy Spirit, the abiding presence of God, and each other, to empower us in this mission.

We exist to bless Sweetwater and the surrounding communities with the fruit of the Spirit of God; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22).

We live in a world that is fractured by selfish sin. By the grace of God and the gift of Christ, we can be whole again. Our mission is to be whole people, living in whole families and manifesting whole communities and whole economies. We exist to encourage one another and to love one another.
